Se basó en un análisis de los planteles, jugadores estrella, títulos cosechados a lo largo de toda su historia, la asistencia del público a cada partido, el rating en televisión de sus encuentros, el alcance que tienen en las redes sociales, los ingresos y egresos económicos y la importancia que tiene la historia de cada uno en el mundo.
La tabla quedó liderada por el Real Madrid con 184 puntos, seguido por el Barcelona que acumula 177 unidades y luego el Manchester United con 155 puntos.
El Xeneize quedó en el puesto 18, acumulando 31 unidades y es el mejor club de América. El Rojo se ubica en el lugar 27 junto al Galatasaray turco, seguido del América de México y el Santos de Brasil.
En este sentido, el Millonario, pese a ser el campeón de la Copa Libertadores en 2018, no acumuló los puntos necesarios para entrar en el ranking.
